Dreamy Balcony image

A dreamy Autumnal wedding at the rosslea hall hotel in rhu.

Mr and Mrs Kirkpatrick Planned a dreamy autumnal wedding at the sumptuous Rosslea hall hotel in Rhu last October.

Jennifer and Robert booked me through a recommendation from the Rosslea hall themselves. After booking Robert then realised that he actually knew my husband, he had been my husbands apprentice years ago (there both mechanics). I love little connections in life and I always feel that they make things that little bit extra special.

I met with Jennifer and Robert to do a pre-wedding photo shoot around the grounds of the Rosslea to show them what to expect on the day. Jen had an idea that she would very much like to have images on the balcony of the hotel. We also walked to the lighthouse and made a plan for portraits around there too.

A few days before the big day, Robert had been in an unfortunate accident which injured his leg, thus resulting in him having minimum movement so I had to quickly re-plan my day with this in mind.

With the help of his brother we drove to the lighthouse location and Robert like a champ posed for portraits. Once back at the hotel he managed to climb through the window (with help) for portraits on the balcony.

Later he told me that even though he was in a lot pain he knew how much Jen wanted these images, so he just got on with it (now that’s true love). By the time the dancing started and a little help from a few cans of Tennent’s he was shuffling about the dance floor with a grin on his face.

If Tennent’s sponsored weddings this wedding would be number 1 on the list!

Jen had bought three pairs of shoes, a practical pair to walk down the isle, a pair of flats for portraits and gorgeous Jimmy choos for dancing later!

Jen also bought a second dress for the evening reception as she wanted to show off her gorgeous Jimmy choo’s.

Photographing weddings for me is all about giving my couples a beautiful gallery of memories from their day that they will cherish for the rest of their lives, and this wedding was truly beautiful with a lot of love and laughter resulting in a gallery full of incredible emotive images.

I asked Jen what her most memorable moment was and any advice for future couples.

Jen said, “Her most memorable part was seeing each other at the opposite end of the isle, all dressed and ready to be married and also their first dance as a married couple!”

Jen’s advice would be “To not stress, pick an amazing wedding venue. like the Rosslea who organise everything and make the planning process easy, and try to take it all in as the day goes by so quickly, so make sure your treasuring all the moments.”

Here are a few images from their incredible day. At the end i have linked all the wonderful supplier that helped shape The Kirkpatricks stunning wedding day.
